A lot of indigineous thinking captured in one passage, particularly restorative justice.
I was raised Christian but reading texts on Indigineous thought has been what has helped me realize what makes a good person.
Too much in Abrahamic religions is about obedience and blind submission to authority which is why I often feel drawn to eastern religious thought also. Both Eastern religious thought and the indigineous worldview are more holistic in my view.
I find Abrahamic religious teachings to be very exclusionary (hey if you beleive what we believe we’ll let you into heaven) Almost like a country club of sorts. Eastern and Indigineous philosophy (with the exception of the caste system warping into a rigid institutionalized social hierarchy due in part to Western influence) seem to be much more inclusionary.
Hard to say its a publicity stunt when it isn’t the first time she’s doing it.
She’s beautiful in her own way but also plain and not really many guys (outside white rural communities) cup of tea. Which is fine. She’s done an exceptional job connecting with many of the basic folk out there which is a unique talent. And it’s great that she’s found love. Based on her songs, which are played almost incessantly on the radio, it sounds like it was a struggle.
Dunno if everyone is enjoying that social order. But it’s certainly true that there’s less order than there was 20 years ago.

Consumer use of private vehicles and air conditioning / heating absolutely have a non-negligible impact.
Nah it’s time to hold Boomers accountable. They were too busy focusing on hedonism, selling out future generations for a tax cut and buying pickup trucks they didn’t need, to care about big picture concepts like climate change.
Under the current system, which has a lot of built in false scarcity, it would mean a 20 year old would be fighting your 300 year old self for resources. In a world with more even distribution of resources maybe it could work temporarily but eventually humans would either need to stop reproducing or enough people would need to die of war or starvation to justify continued reproduction.
A system like this ultimately amounts to eugenics as only the “haves” will have access to immortality while the “have nots” perish naturally.
Desiring immortality is an inherently self centered mindset.
