Nah, back before the internet was a thing everyone had access to, and like Wikipedia in their pockets, stuff like this happened for real, especially in small towns.

Like when I was a kid around 30 years ago people told ghost stories and shit as absolutely real. The information bottleneck is so hard to understand if you’re young now. Like cable TV was all of your regular entertainment and it sucked then too. Music was whatever was on the radio for most people. If you really wanted to know something niche, you had to go a long way away to a large regional library. If you wanted to buy something but were a poor average person, you went to yard sales and searched the newspaper classified ads. It was like this up until the turn of the century in most places. Dial up internet was so slow that you couldn’t load a single full resolution image before you finished, and there was a 50:50 chance you make a new futa friend in the end. It was a different world. People were much more gullible, or rather even a reasonably intelligent person struggled to cite sources and see through the haze.

When people talk about suicide, I strongly believe in the saying, “no permanent solutions for temporary problems.” But I strongly believe in this saying from both perspectives, aka “permanent solutions are your personal choice that I fully respect as an unalienable human right, if you choose, due to permanent problems.” Anyone trying to steal such an unalienable human right from another is exceptionally ignorant of the magnitude of potential suffering and is criminally sadistic as far as I’m concerned.

Those all have sources. There are also lots of reputable YouTubers with relevant academic credentials that have coved this, Asianometry and William C Fox are two that I recall covering the subject. I think Caspian Report did as well at one point in the last few years. This is like ultra basic surface level stuff everyone should know or severely question their sources and echo chambers if they are not made aware of this fundamental information.

Why is there any mystery here. They said they intend on ending their civil war and have shown no indication whatsoever that such a statement is only rhetorical or posturing. Taiwan has never tried to be independent of China. It still claims sovereignty over all of China.

If the US Confederates had retreated to Cuba and others had intervened on their behalf, while the Confederates still claimed dominion over a part of the USA, you can bet your ass the US would invade Cuba as soon as they had the opportunity. We can all decry the whole thing, but it is their conflict. If anything, we should be evacuating anyone and anything that needs to leave and capitulating without further involvement. Like if your neighbor and their spouse are arguing, stay out of it for the benefit of everyone. This is not some mate getting abused that needs help. This involves two bloody parties where all sides have done monstrous things and that needs to get resolved one way or another. Both can’t claim dominion over all. The past cannot be bowdlerized for convenience or exploitation for profit of western criminal capitalist abuse. No one needs to fight or die, but a resolution must be found.

…but really must tell others of us with less personal investment about the nature of what and why. I knew she was controversial and probably a bad person due to headlines in the periphery, but I didn’t know she is a genocidal monster type of a person. H.P. was a little late (in film) for my childhood, but it is still good to know why exactly she is to be avoided at the peripheral awareness cultural level.

In my experience running a very active pro eBay store, all you need to do is leave a note if the ordering system has such an implementation. Like even in general, a kind note with an order is such a rare pleasantry when a person sees a couple dozen orders a day and is trying their best to pack it well and keep everything sorted to send the right thing to the right place, that any kind gesture even with a request is a major positive against the monotony. It depends on who is filling orders and all. Like I ran the whole eBay thing solo, so logistics was a joke job title. Some dissonant kid will be very different in perspective. The few times I got any such kind note and request, I went out of my way in packing the item in a way that opened with presentation quality that also presented my note in reply thanking them. Implementing feature details like selecting a feature that may or may not be available at the time is too difficult to manage in the real world at this scale.

I’m sad to hear they are not doing all local production. I haven’t been able to wear flip flops since my broken neck and back. I haven’t been there in over a decade since, but pass by the location often. My big crash was on Coast Highway a half mile from there.
