  • There absolutely is a being behind the AI. There’s bias built in, so while it doesn’t have personal motivations it is guided by the motivation of big tech. They’ve also been shown to lie, hallucinate and say essentially whatever in order to please the user.

The library is fantastic, a tool that holds almost immeasurable value. It’s however nowhere near as fast or accessible as the Internet. While AI hasn’t killed the Internet, every bit it’s touched is worse for it.

  • As the AI confidently gives me the wrong information, which it stole from a forum, talking about an only vaguely related process. It’s one thing to present info as “here, hope this helps” vs “here’s what you asked for, this is the relevant sentence highlighted.”

If I didn’t know it was wrong, it could’ve set me down a path that wasted hours of my time. It’s happened to colleagues, and they weren’t wise enough to know better.

I’ll never forget when I took my 4yo on a walk and as we’re waiting to cross the street he saw a cyber truck pull up to the light next to us. He goes “dad look!” The guy was smiling as he heard my son and saw him point out the car. Then my son followed with “the ugly box truck!” The way the guys smile melted from his face was fucking art.

Running into people from high school 15 years later, who still wear the same style of clothes, listen to the same bands, and basically just got rounder is wacky. Like you’ve had fifteen years and haven’t made any changes or improvements?

Not a repair tech, but this matches my experience maintaining and repairing my appliances. My early 80s whirlpool range and oven have had small issues here and there, but generally require swapping one part hidden behind some screws and will take under an hour. My Samsung dishwasher not only does a piss poor job, it also throws LC codes every few days. After the fourth time pulling it from the cabinet I had to put a series of shims to lift the leak sensor off the drip tray and buy a separate Wi-Fi moisture detector. My Samsung fridge (4yo) has a broken door ice dispenser and intermittently decides not to dispense water too. Old LG unit had a linear compressor that shit the bed three times before they refused to do any more warranty work on it.

Use their tactics. Is it immoral to lie to an idiot to get them to vote in their own interests? They’re already buying all kinds of bullshit like flat earth, anti vac, and trickle down economics; infiltrate their circles and cause confusion in the narrative. Break into their walled communities and drive division within their ranks.
