If events are most horrific if they happen to women and children, the trick is to combine women and children: girls. Out of 82000 people they couldn’t find a girl to maximize heartbreak with? So instead they settle for halfheartbreak using a boy. At least they didn’t settle for 1/5 heartbreak using a woman or 1/10 heartbreak using a man. But still, come on.
