  • We did manage to change some things for the better - acid rain, ozone depletion, lead in everything. However with conflicting information and some corporations doing everything they can to muddy the consensus, it is hard to do the right thing. It is especially difficult if for years you think you’ve been doing the right thing and find out it was all fake - recycling.

  • Bet someone chimes in with “but the new one is better because it uses less energy”. I’m too lazy to figure the math on that but I can’t imagine that the 20% more energy usage of my old machine is greater than the energy cost of manufacturing, shipping, extra repairs (parts, transportation) that the new “better” machines need on 1yr to 18month cycle of fixing or outright replacing.

  • They are…billionaires. That is the common denominator of horrible people. They think that because they are rich beyond measure that their opinions should rule the world. The world would be a much much better place if we were rid of the pestilence of the billionaire class and maybe the ‘$100s of millions’ class. No one gets to being a billionaire by being completely honest, law abiding, fair, moral and ethical. Rules must be ignored in the quest for superlative riches. Those rules are only for those who haven’t become rich enough to ignore them. Even if they seem like benign benefactors, scratch the surface and you will find they are, without exception, evil.
