For many people this is where the word s*** that you mentioned really does matter. The goal is to get to the thing before it begins which could be 30 seconds or 30 minutes early, whatever. And I think now when we all have digital devices, it’s pretty easy to make use of your time by reading a book or the news or watching TikTok or whatever, so it’s not like you’re wasting time sitting around if you happen to arrive 20 minutes ahead of schedule.

Your unhoused numbers are wrong. Those are the official “sleeping on the streets” numbers, which is not the same thing. First because they’re official, and therefore almost certainly undercounting, and second because they exclude all of the situations where people don’t have houses but are kinda not exactly in a cardboard box.

  • People have said that, but I disagree. I think that fascists really are that stupid. It looks like a strategy because a lot of mainstream media has been happy to embrace the chaos, all they want is that 24-hour news cycle. But if you look at reliable political writers, people who think long-term, none of Trump’s bullshit baffles anyone.

If you think about the tariffs, he was trying to flex because he’s a narcissist, and people around him, perhaps including himself, were getting richer through insider trading. It’s a basic scam. Everyone understands it. No one is baffled.

I don’t want anyone to have access to nuclear weapons, since you asked.

But the reality is that some countries, including Israel and the United States, already have them. These two countries are currently engaged in military and terroristic activity in multiple international venues. So if that’s the rules that the big boys are playing with, and then someone else comes along and considers whether they might want to join the party too, your question is I think irresponsible. What you should have been asking is, what is likely to keep the Iranian people safer, nukes or no nukes?

In Palestine and Israel and Iran, it’s fine to look at the governments and say how bad they are, and you may well be right, or maybe not, I don’t know. But we can look at the people whose lives are being destroyed or permanently ended and wish that those numbers went down. If the administrations are full of evil jerks and they stay in power but the death count drops, that’s still a good thing.
